Rum is an alcoholic spirit that is made using sugarcane, either from its byproduct or directly from the sugarcane juice. The process of making rum is done through fermentation then distillation. The ingredients you need in making a Cohiba are:
- 1 oz. Gold Coast XO Rum – from Barbados
- A handful of mint
- 6-8 Blackberries
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 7up soda
To make the perfect Cohiba, first get your cocktail shaker and place 1 ounce of Gold Coast XO Rum, then add the 6-8 blackberries, the handful of mint, and a tablespoon of lemon juice. Now take a muddler and muddle all that ingredients together. Work your way into crushing all the essences of both the blackberries and the mint. Squash down the ingredients until no large bits are present.
After muddling the content, add some ice into the cocktail shaker. Place the lid of the shaker and shake until everything is mixed up and chilled up well. Do not strain the content as you will want every bits and pieces of the ingredient that you have just mixed together. Place all the ingredients into a serving glass, including the ice you used in chilling the content. Top the mix with a 7up or soda. Now sit back, relax, and enjoy.
